What Is Klaran UVC? The Zero Maintenance Water Cooler Upgrade Explained

What does Klaran UVC actually do?

Klaran UVC is a small device that sits inside your water cooler and delivers a burst of ultraviolet disinfection right at the point of dispense, the moment before water reaches the tap. It's designed to catch anything that might enter the water through downstream pipework or the cooler itself, acting as a final line of defence that most standard coolers simply don't have. The result is an extra layer of protection that works quietly in the background, every single time someone uses the machine.

How does it work?

There's very little to explain here, which is honestly part of the appeal. The moment water begins to flow, Klaran switches on automatically. There's nothing for you or your team to remember, no buttons to press, and no settings to adjust. Once it's installed, it just gets on with it.

Why is it better than traditional UV systems?

Older UV technology relies on mercury based lamps, and while they do the job, they come with a shelf life, a maintenance schedule, and specific disposal requirements that add cost and admin over time.

Klaran uses LED technology instead. That means it lasts longer, performs more consistently, and removes the ongoing costs associated with lamp replacements. There's no maintenance schedule to factor in and nothing to dispose of carefully, just reliable, automatic protection built into your cooler.

It's one of those things that, once it's in, you genuinely don't need to think about again.
