As the clocks Spring forward at the end of the month it is a sign of new life beginning with fresh buds on the trees accompanied by the sound of new baby lambs and chicks echoing in the air. Its the perfect time to give and make a real difference in the lives of local children.
Here at Crown Water & Coffee we are continuing to support Local charity Swings & Smiles. They provide a specialist, fully resourced recreational facility for families of children with learning difficulties and disabilities. Swings & Smiles provides an environment where children and young people with special needs and their carers, siblings, or the whole family, can play together without the pressures often experienced in wider community settings. With their own purpose built soft play room and other specialist activities they offer a wide range of recreational facilities and services that enable inclusive family play of a kind which are not currently available within 40 miles of Newbury. Swings & Smiles is already supporting almost 400 families who have children with special needs.
The charity also has a number of specialist play rooms to enable children with a wide range of disabilities to play with siblings and other family members in a secure and safe environment with appropriate services and equipment available. The personal care room is of an exceptionally high standard with an overhead hoist and changing table to meet the needs of children who need extra assistance.
