NanoFilters: The Latest Filtration Technology

Updated: Jan 29, 2021

NanoFilter, Whats Really In Your Water?

Why Invest in a Water Filter?

The UK has some of the cleanest water in the world, on tap, due to the laws dictating the treatment and sanitisation of our mains water before it reaches the general public. Just to give you an idea, tap water often starts as wastewater which is then treated, to remove chemicals and other harmful elements (chemicals from industry or agricultural pesticides), but traces can remain. Then the tap water is purified with chlorine, leaving behind a taste that few people enjoy.

This is when a filter on a plumbed in water cooler is essential to supply endless pure healthy water. Our tap water is great, easily available and relatively cheap. Because our bodies are made up of two thirds water, continued water hydration is essential, doesn’t it therefore make sense that we should have the best quality?

How Does a Water Cooler Filter Work?

Carbon block filters are the main filter used for this purpose, they take the tap water and remove impurities and odour to improve the taste. At Crown Water and Coffee, we are proud to offer not only the traditional carbon block filter but also the NanoFilter as part of our filtration range. The NanoFilter comes with some of the latest features in filter technology, eliminating not only taste but odour, viruses and bacteria too! The composition of the NanoFilter Candle gives the added security by removing 99.98% of Cryptosporidium, Giardia Intestinalis and E Coli and provides protection against Legionella, Pseudomonas, Salmonella, Mycobacteria and Aspergillus. The NanoFilter also ensures a high flow rate, even with slow water pressure, whilst substantially reducing the risk of blocking.

Maintenance of a Water Filter

Filtration systems must be maintained regularly to remain effective. This is normally done at the same time as the sanitising service with the simple process of changing only the filter cartridge. In most cases, filter cartridges should be changed every 6-12 months. However, if your water is very hard, you may need to add a scale filter to avoid limescale build up and clogging.

As you can see, even though tap water has many benefits (it’s convenient, it’s cheap and

eco-friendlier in comparison to bottled water), but it still has its shortcomings. These can be overcome with the help of the right filtration.
